Hammer 2012

Hammer 2012

The hammer is our second completely new design for 2012. This is a stiff & durable trick & slide machine that will get you hooked for life!

Its wide body & high concave makes the board stable & locks your feet in position to secure that steezy slide & the board takes a beating better than most dropthrough boards!

How would this perform for a boy 10 years old? (1,35 meter and 30 kg)

    • Slipstream

The Hammer would perform well. Stable and easy to learn on and handle.

Thanks for the respons :-). What would be the main differense for a small rider like this on the Hammer vs the Platypus. What would be more easy and versatile?

      • Slipstream

Tough question! We would probably go for The Hammer (shorter wheelbase), but as always this is a matter of preference, so try it before you buy it if possible!

Vil Hammer være tungt å svinge med for han?

      • Slipstream

As long as the bushings are soft enough he should be fine!

My weight are about 70 kg and i’d like to slide, cruise and go downhill. Would you prefer the hammer or Platypus?

    • Slipstream

Hello again Isac. Both Platypus and Hammer work good for cruising and slides, but neither one is recommended for downhill where you probably should look more at the Jackal and DFA boards.
      Good Luck!

    • Slipstream

Hi Simon and congratulations on your new board!
This board sholuld suit you well, but for downhill you might want to try a slightly larger board/wheelbase like The DFA och Jackal boards.
      Good luck!

    …skriver på engelska så kanske lite fler har glädje av att läsa detta;
I have ridden the board for a few weeks now, and it works like a charm! I was kinda afraid that stiff board equals boring board, but I was wrong, big time!
Even if the board is really short compared to other models it’s really stable in higher speeds (it’s no downhill-board, but yet comfortable in pretty high speeds while freeriding).
The deep concave gives your feet that perfect position and you feel really comfortable and safe while doing slides, predrifts and speedchecks. It is also really fun to cruise around town with, the short lenght makes it easy to carry around and the short truckbase makes it easy and fast to carve with, even in lower speeds.
The one and only thing I can complain about is that there are alot of airbubbles in my griptape, but it’s probably just mine…

The board is really “universal”, and currently I am using it for all kinds of riding. This is the board for you if you like stiff, short boards with deep concave. I notice many people seems to enjoy “trampolines on wheels” (really flexy boards), but I think that you should give it a try, it’s a really fun board!

Hey! I bought the hammer board a few weeks ago as my first longboard ever. I was recommended to buy this board beacuse its a good and easy bord for newbies like me. But i got a question i cant see any difference between the nose or the tail on the board. Does it have any impacts on my cruising on the board?

    • Slipstream

      Hi Joey!

This board is a twin tip board so you can use whatever side you want as nose or tail. There is no difference at all between them.

      Happy riding!

  6. niklas

could you recommend a good allround board?? thanks in advance! :D

  7. niklas

i got one last question (sorry for all posts) is this good for tiger claws and you know tricks where u use your hands drain, claws etc. or will the concave ruin the grip?? :/

    • Slipstream

      Hi Niklas,
The concave will not ruin your grip on claws, etc.
      Good Luck!

      • Lopez

Hey, my weight is 80 kg and 1,8 m tall, i’m looking board for trick’s like on skateboard and standup slides. You think this board is good for my weight and tall? sorry for my english :)

      • Slipstream

Hey Lopez, thank you for the message!
Your height/weight is no match for this board, it will work like a charm.

        Good luck!

How much is the EFP on this deck? I’m looking for a city cruiser for fast commuting and fun times. This deck seems to be pretty much what I want, only thing I’m concerned about is the stance: cuz it’s such a short deck I’m afraid I can’t get a wide enough stance on it to really put some power in to the trucks. Thanks !

    • Slipstream

      Hello Juho!
Side of rail measures 56 cm although you can hang your toes over the cutouts a couple of centimetres on each end without risk of toebite.
Many experienced riders fear that the platform will not be enough for them before actually trying it out and realizing it really works!
Carl in the movie above is one of them and now he swears by this board.
Hope this helps and good luck!

  9. Tobi

Hey! Can the hammer deal with about 95kg?

    • Slipstream

      Hey Tobi!
The Hammer deals with 95 kgs without any problems. We have had riders weighing in at about 120 kgs enjoying this board, so you should be safe ;-)
